Abstract:
Preinertia is an implicit assumption in classical and modern physics that is made explicit here so that it can be used in some very significant discussions. It is a universal property of all physical objects, including massless elementary particles such as photons. Indeed, it is proved here that photons are preinertial. And it is discussed on what universal property of elementary particles preinertia could be based. It is also proved that preinertia makes impossible to detect absolute motion, with the exception, perhaps, of the motion of Earth through the CMB isotropic frame. Preinertia will also be used in the subsequent parts of this series of articles to discuss the gravitational interaction between photons and massive bodies, suggesting a much simpler alternative to the deformation of the (inconsistent) spacetime continuum.
