Abstract:

Consecutive stages of lightning formation are: 1) liquefying atmospheric air gaseous water molecules and transfer of therewith connected free electrons onto the surfaces of so created drops, 2) formation with so transferred electrons of drop enveloping electronic gas shells, 3) further increasing of drops’ dimensions and further concentration of electronic gas shells due to the adsorption of further amounts of smaller drops, 4) transformation of bigger drops into hollow drops by the way of enlarging the electronic shells, 5) Explosion of the hollow drop together with its electronic shell and the release of electrons together with light and sound effects, 6) provoking by the released electrons neighboring hollow drops explosions. Ball lightning is a released from an atmospheric cloud hollow water drop enveloped with its electronic shell. St. Elmo’s fires are provoked by sticking to surfaces of objects luminous ions created by the way of adhering to the molecules of air of the electrons released during a thunderstorm.
