Abstract:

Inspired by Galileo's well-known paradox about natural numbers and their perfect squares, this article defines a very simple supertask from which the inconsistency of the Axiom of Infinity, which underpins contemporary infinitist mathematics, is deduced. Since modern physical theories are constructed with this infinitist mathematics, it makes sense to ask whether these theories are really physical theories.
