Abstract:

According to the theory of relativity, events simultaneous in one inertial frame turn out to be non-simultaneous in another frame. The relativity of the simultaneity and the impossibility of proving the simultaneity of events separated in space is usually illustrated with proposed by Einstein “thought experiment” with a train . The article shows that the fallacy of this key statement of the relativity can be experimentally proven by modern methods of measuring time used in the GPS system.
