Abstract:
The dubious assertion that light can be 'bent' by mass, by gravitational attraction and by Spacetime is disingenuous and unnecessary. Refraction can, in all cases, explain any light-bending phenomena. With photographs of several confirming experiments, I demonstrate this. The grounds for the erroneous belief that both gravity and acceleration can 'bend' light stem from Einstein's Equivalence Principle which I show to be
seriously flawed. Spacetime cannot bend light, as it is only a metric. I assert that Spacetime doesn’t move; it doesn’t do anything at all; it does not exist as a physical field.
Spacetime is not a tangible, physically real thing and therefore cannot provide any explanation for light's behaviour.
