absolute rotation, fringeshift, rotating interferometer, phaseshift, aether, SRT
In 1913 George Sagnac performed an sophisticated experiment with a rotating interferometer. This apparatus should prove the existence of theaether(inmyopinionitdid).Butthisapparatusshows furthermore that rotation is an absolute movement. So any observer rotating with the disk can decide according to a fringeshift whether he is rotating or not. Additionally he can decide whether it is clockwise or counter clockwise. All calculations are made in a classical way including the derivation of the equation for fibre optic gyroscopes, or interferometers. So there is no need to use any of the relativistic ideas.
This all the more because special relativity is denying an aether. An sample of ´calculation´ according to general relativity is shown in a successive paper.
