Abstract:
Instead of the alternative approach, which tends to equate Standard English (SE) with some form of "spoken" or "common" English, this approach to World Standard English (WSE) is one that adopts a widespread English that nevertheless sets standards, not one that pursues trends. The aim of this WSE is to establish a short set of rules to help one use the language correctly and effectively. It is not a grammar book. And since most of the contents of most grammar books are permitted within this WSE, the focus will be placed on important differences highlighted herein.
