Abstract:
In the present paper the Marxian representation of capitalist mode of production is critically reappraised with the help of the method of ascending from the abstract to the concrete. The Marxian method of representation in “Kapital”, ascending from the abstract to the concrete, is first interpreted as the double task of abstraction ‘temporal and spatial abstraction in the vertical or horizontal direction’. Ascending from the general to the particular four temporal abstraction levels in the vertical direction are distinguished according to this method: 1. The working process in general, 2. the ex- change process in general, 3. the accumulation process in general, 4. the historical development of capitalist mode of production. In these four temporal abstraction levels, the historical development stages of the capitalist mode of production are unequivocally and completely represented by spatial abstraction in horizontal direction.
