Abstract:

In 1905, A. Einstein published his paper “On the Electrodynamics of Moving Bodies”[1]. In Section 1, the equation “ tB - tA = t’A - tB ” was provided; it describes a method for confirming the synchronization of two clocks by using a ray of light that makes a round trip between the clocks. Based on this method, Einstein established the Special Theory of Relativity (STR). In other words, his STR does not hold without the concept of light. The approach of employing a light ray is also useful for measuring distance; therefore, it is applied in many modern technological fields. However, there are other approaches, such as SONAR, that can be employed to achieve the same of purpose. In thought experiments aimed at confirming the above synchronization, another method that does not cause a time lag between the two clocks can be used. Using this method, STR becomes very simple and even non-scientists can easily confirm the synchronization of the clocks without any need for calculations. From the above, we can say that light is not the best means to study relativity.

Masahiko Makanae(Tokyo, Japan):
Dear Mr. Motoki Mimori,
Thank you very for the comment and visiting my website, and the agreement.

My profession is a business consultant including human resource development for Japanese companies. I am a new comer in the field of physics, I've just started to study Section 1, 2, 3 and 4 of Einstein's paper entitled "On the Electrodynamics of Moving Bodies"[1] as the premise of Einstein's theory of STR, from the last year. Thus, now my knowledge of physics is the above only, so that I am not sure that Einstein ignored Faraday disk or not.

But I think that; regardless of whether Einstein ignored Faraday disk, in his paper [1] there are the following major mistakes.
1. Error in judgement of definition of concept of "time".
2. Using only "light" when considering the synchronization of the two clocks.
3. Could not ensure logical consistence when using the universal equation "time=distance/speed"
4.Error in disjunctive judgement which was shown in the part of conclusion of Section 2 of his paper [1].
Therefore, we don't have care that Einstein ignored Faraday disk or not, when considering the errors in the above section of his paper [1].

Anyway, I thank you again, and I hope that we will discuss about the issues of Einstein's STR more.

Best regard,
Masahiko Makanae
P.S: Now, I am an unschooled amateur physicist, not only a new comer; thus please do not call my name with any degree including the term "Professor" ( smile ! ).

Dear Mr. Makanae

I am very glad that you replied to my comment!

I have little understanding about STR, but I can understand your ideas little.

Your idea about synchronization of two clocks is innovative, I think. Not only atmosphere, but also water , oil, metal are the candidates of substance.

I do recommend you to study electromagnetism, because electromagnetism is the base of STR.

I want to follow your study about STR!

Motoki Mimori(Japan):
Dear Professor Makanae

I visited your website written in Japanese.

I also think Einstein's theory has many problems in suppositions.

In his supposition of the Principle of Relativity, I think he is ignoring Faraday disk. How do you think about this? Though my knowledge about STR is weak(so it may be wrong), I agree to your opinion that STR has problems. Currently, I am not believing STR.
