Abstract:
The tired-light redshift (RS) theory in a static or slowly expanding universe is re-examined in connection with novel theories of the physical properties of the quantum vacuum by assuming thermalization of starlight into a homogeneous black-body energy distribution. A new redshift /photon travel time (RS/t) relation is deduced and predictions of the theory are compared with those of the lambda-cold dark matter (ΛCDM) model and with supernovae RS data.
