Abstract:

Le relazioni cinematiche fra 1' Etere o la Materia hann(~ formato da circa an secolo, uno dei problemi piil importanti delia Fisica. Fresnol concepl l'Etere contenuto in ognl corpo come risultante di duo parti: l'una libera, dotata della medcsima densiti~ cho ha 1' Etere del vuoto, la qualo conserverebbe immutata la sua posizione nollo spazio, 1' altra vincolata al corpo, e da questo trascinata in tutti i suoi movimertti~ la quale avrebbe una densitk uguale a (n^2-1)/n^2 della denslt~ total% dove n indica l'indice di rifrazione del corpo. Stokes raise avanti e sostenne un'ipotesi diversa~ the riuseiva a spiegare i modesimi fenomeni considerati da Fresnel cio~ r aberrazione sia new aria che in altri corpi, ed i risultati negativi delle ricercho fatte sopra un' eventuale inituenza della traslazione terrestre sui fenomenl di riflession% rifraziono polarizzazione: l'ipotesi del trascinamento totale doll' Etere, da parte dei corpi materiali in moto.
