In der modernen Physik wird Licht als eine Quantenerscheinung aufgefasst, die sowohl teilchenartige als auch wellenartige Aspekte aufweist. Heute wissen wir, dass keiner dieser beiden Aspekte, für sich genommen, ausreicht, um dem Wesen des Lichtes gerecht zu werden. Diese duale Charakteristik des Lichtes wird daher – entsprechend der Quantentheorie - als eine seiner fundamentalen Eigenschaften aufgefasst. Angesichts dieser quantentheoretischen Auffassung erscheint es als eine natürliche Annahme, dass nicht nur das Licht selbst, sondern auch die Lichtgeschwindigkeit c dualer Natur sein sollte. In dem vorliegenden Aufsatz ist untersucht worden, ob und inwieweit die Spezielle Relativitätstheorie dieser Annahme genügt. In modern physics light is regarded as a quantum phenomenon that has both particle-like and wave-like aspects. Today we know that neither of these two aspects is sufficient to describe the nature of light. This dual characteristic of light is therefore - according to quantum theory – considered of being one of its fundamental properties. Given this quantumtheoretical view it seems to be a natural assumption that not only light itself, but also the speed of light c, should be of dual nature. In the present paper it was investigated whether and to what extent the theory of special relativity satisfies this assumption.
