Abstract:
Humanity faces growing challenges arising from geopolitical tensions, increasing military expenditures, rapid technological development, and the absence of a unifying long-term vision for civilization. While science and technology provide unprecedented opportunities for prosperity and progress, they also amplify the consequences of conflict and division. This article proposes that humanity requires a new vision based on deeper knowledge of Nature, the Universe, and humanity's place within it. Rather than directing vast resources toward military competition, a significant portion of human effort could be redirected toward the peaceful exploration and development of the Solar System. Artificial intelligence, guided by human ethical values, could become a powerful tool for planning, constructing, and managing future extraterrestrial settlements, enabling humanity to expand peacefully beyond Earth while serving the common interests of civilization. Such a broader cosmic perspective could encourage international cooperation, sustainable development, and long-term thinking extending beyond national and generational interests.
Rather than presenting new experimental research, this article synthesizes insights gained through more than three decades of space research and theoretical physics, together with recent developments in modern cosmology, to propose a broader vision for humanity's future.
