Abstract:
The presence of women in science traverses the earliest times of the history of science wherein they have broken boundaries and made significant contributions. Large numbers of the most prominent women who practiced science were the spouses and sisters of male scientists. Scientists like Marie-Anne Paulze Lavoisier and Caroline Herschel served as unpaid, often uncredited collaborators. Here we have assembled this list of 13 women in science history who deserve to be remembered for their work.
