Thermodynamics, relativity, reversibility, irreversibility, energy, entropy, gravitation, Einstein’s mass-energy relation.
This short paper contains two sections. The first section is a brief reminder of the interpretation classically admitted for the process that consists in heating or cooling a given mass of water. The second section deals with an extended interpretation that can be suggested when the analysis is pursued a little further. The complement introduced lies on the idea that the Einstein mass-energy relation is as a necessary component of the thermodynamic theory, even for a process that seems too simple to enter the field of relativity.
