Abstract:
The Nobel Prize in Physics for 2011 was awarded for the observation of the accelerating universe in 1998. Exactly this scenario was theoretically predicted an year earlier by Director, Dr. B.G. Sidharth. This had attracted much media attention. Dr. Sidharth has gone on record saying, “Mine was theoretical work in 1997, which appeared in International Journal of Modern Physics A and was also presented at the Marcell Grossmann meeting in Jerusalem. The next year Perlmutter, Schmidt and Reiss had on the basis of supernovae observations come to the same conclusion. For this they were awarded a well deserved Nobel Prize.”
